That's weird, I posted a response, but something must've ate it. I liked what they did with a low budget. It had a great soundtrack with a rare PIL track until the Blair witch came out. I was annoyed by the color filter that was on the camera throughout the film. It made it difficult to watch.
It's one of my favourite films actually... very atmospheric and gritty, with street-smart dialogue, and believable characters. People often misjudge it as another "slasher robot" film, but there are loads of layers beneath, and it's a very intelligent film, full of very smart observations on a lot of topics (population control, politics, technology, religion, and so on). and... on a side-note, the characters and their relations are somewhat deeper than the obvious... did you notice the exchange of looks between Shades and Jill when they meet, and the uneasiness with which Shades replies "I keep an eye on her" when Moses asks him about Jill's safety in the building? ;) they were more than screwing while he was away ;>
ahh glad you like it so much...it one of my fav too..and yes there more to it than meets da eye.. infact i just got a tat done on my wrist which is based on the film "and no flesh shall be spared" lol...
